Ascend Bio Labs COAs
This page is the home of the Ascend Bio Labs COAs: the independent certificates of analysis for the research peptides sold at officialascendlabs.com. A certificate of analysis, usually shortened to COA, is the document an analytical laboratory produces after testing a sample. It is the closest thing a research buyer has to proof of what is inside a freeze-dried vial, which looks identical whether it holds the right compound or the wrong one.
Why Ascend publishes its COAs
A supplier can write “99% pure” on any label. A report from an outside laboratory, with a lab identification number, a date and a method, is something you can check. We publish ours openly so researchers can judge the product before ordering, and we link each report to the matching product page so you never have to hunt for it. Every report below can be opened at full size by clicking a page thumbnail.
What the Ascend reports measure
The core test is HPLC purity. High-performance liquid chromatography separates the sample into its components and reports what share of the detected signal belongs to the target peptide. The companion figure is the assay, the measured quantity of peptide in the vial, given in milligrams. For several products the laboratory also ran heavy-metal screening by ICP-MS (arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury), a bacterial endotoxin test by LAL, and a sterility test following USP <71>. Blend reports list a separate assay for each compound. Two laboratories appear on this page: Vanguard Laboratory, an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory in Olympia, Washington, and Freedom Diagnostics.
How to read a COA in two minutes
First check that the report names the same compound and strength as your product. Next find the purity figure and its uncertainty, which looks like “99.58% ± 0.18%”. Then compare the assay with the labeled amount, remembering that peptide content and fill amount are not always identical. Finally look at the safety panels if the report has them. Our guide How to Read a Peptide Certificate of Analysis goes line by line, and HPLC and Mass Spectrometry Purity Testing Explained covers how the numbers are produced.
What a COA does and does not tell you
A COA describes the batch that was sampled, on the day it was tested. It is strong evidence, not a lifetime guarantee, so always compare the lot and strength on the report with the label on your vial and keep products stored as directed (see storage and handling for laboratory use). A few products in the catalog do not have a report on this page yet, and they are listed at the bottom so you know exactly which ones. If you need the current batch documentation for any product, ask through the contact page.
